Tempestas slid underneath the large frame, and slowly began to walk back to the Den, his muscles tensed with the large effort to keep it form crushing him.
((Eep, can't tink))

Aoi-Tsuki continued to walk, standing by his side, and almost waiting for his response to that. Of course, when it didn't come, she figured either he'd ignored it, didn't know what to say, or didn't want to say anything. She figured that the memories of what had lingered over him were still fresh in his mind, like a wound to the side. So the Drappa didn't pressure him about it, instead, she walked beside him.
She would have walked closer to him, but of course, she didn't want him to feel uncomfortable, and being how she was, she didn't like ones she loved feeling that way around her. Or anything of the sort. "I'm sorry Glade, we can change the subject if you'd like. I can understand you not wanting to talk about it."

"No, it's okay..." He stopped the conversation as his optics lingered on the slowly, shrinking form of his superior Dragga walked off into the winter mist that clung in the air from the river, which was starting to dwindle in depth and in width, for they were coming closer to the pond where the main river ended, and branched off to the rapids in Rio Blanco Valley to the south, Kosov to the north, and the Carpathian mountains off northwest from there.
Not wanting to say he wanted to change the subject, but not wanting to say anything at all, really, Glade turned his eyes from Tempestas' form padding back to the dens into the dark raven veil of the night, the knarled, leafless branches of the willows and other riverside trees obscuring the Alpha's form, tearing at the thin curtain that separated night from day.
Suddenly, he realized that, very soon, the middle of the snowy season, not only would there be more snow on the ground and a low supply of Lera to prey upon, but it would be the anniversary of the StarWinder pack, Tempestas and Citali's leadership, and the anniversary of his crush on Aoi.
He wanted to express himself so bad, like she was opening herself up to him. But he couldn't, the fear of messing things up were creeping inside him far too much and far too often now.
He had to say something.
"I can't believe it...another winter, the first year of the StarWinders is almost over...That means that the year of..of being with you...that's almost over, too...." He didn't sound sad, but almost happy. He would have known her for longer than he had this year, and, maybe, the new year would bring him some new courage.

"Ah yes. Well, we'll have another year together, as well, if it is Tor's willing." Aoi smiled, "A whole year. Ah, it seems just a few weeks ago, that I met Citali. I remember that. And when I met you. Then the cubs were born. Ah, they're getting pretty old now eh?" Aoi giggled. "They're so cute! And pretty soon, they'll be huge....Or, bigger."
"Though then Nevermore had to come and ruin it all. Her and her stupid little attitude and dark-arts. Blech. My stupid sister." Aoi growled a little, but lifted it to something else, "Hm...Say, how are Tempestas and Citali. I don't know about you, but it seems like we're out of touch. I don't know, maybe she ought to hold pack meetings or...Or something. But that's not my place." Aoi corrected herself, so he wouldn't get the wrong image or anything.
"Urgh, it's too bad the Lera are scarce in winter, if not, it would be my perfect season." Aoi smiled, being arctic through her generations, she was used to the cold, bitter-snows and winters. Even if she hadn't experienced ones like her anscestors, she by instinct knew how to cope. The thick fur helped as well.
The Drappa giggled. "Hey Glade, when the snow melts, what does it become?"

At the mentioning of his sister, he felt right at home, he and Tempestas were the ones that knew the most about her, being a brother and a mate. "Well, Citali's thought about that, but then the cubs came. They've been a lot of trouble, she says meetings'll probably start soon, since the four of them are starting to get bigger and older, and now that they've moved the Rendezvous Site near here..." He stopped, not wanting to sound too knoledgeable about his neice and nephews.
"Kanika, an Omega, and Dakshata, a Warrior, have had cubs...I haven't talked to them much, though...They just came and that was that. Citali hasn't spoken to them, either. She doesn't like them, especially Kanika, with her being an Omega and already having cubs..."
Now was the time to change the subject. They had been in a positive air, and here he was, bringing it down with the negative feelings about other pack members. Gossiping was never his favorite passtime, but with a spiteful sister like his, it was hard to get away from it.
Glade turned to Aoi's joke. "I don't know...grass?" Glade seemed totally clueless, his head cocked to one side.

Aoi's giggles increased. "No silly, it becomes Spring!" She smiled, looking at him.
"They've had pups already? I didn't know that. Just goes to show how smart Aoi is!" She sighed, actually meaning the statement. "I can see why she's not happy about it, I wouldn't be either if I were in her position. Was it even authorized? Or did they just come, with the pups?"
Aoi's curious side happened to get the best of her, although she too, did not like gossiping, sometimes it was unavoidable. Like now. Though, after she understood the answer, she was going to drop it, not wanting the situation at hand to become too depressing or anything like that.

Tempestas saw Glade and Aoi out of the corner of his eye, and smiled, seeing the two together again. After howling greetings, he continued towards the den, Citali coming into his mind. He winced as he remember her storming off, just because he was being stupid. Sighing, he continued onto the den.
His feet soon touched the cold stone, snow litered here and there about the stone outcropping. The Lera dug into his back, but he ignored it, panting as he walked into the cave opening. He slowly dropped it to the ground, looking around for Citali, asking, "Citali? Can we talk?"

"Oh...I get it!" Glade chortled a little at the joke. "Never heard that one before." The Dragga turned his thoughts to the other half of the conversation. "Well, they came, got to know eachother in about a day, and, the next thing we know, pups. One of them has taken position as Head Pup, couldn't tell you which one, though, I'm not a big fan of their pups. The Dragga, Dakshata, he's a Red Varg." Glade was hoping Aoi would know the negativity he had no choice to feel against that Varg, since he was not really a Varg at all.
********************************************
Citali, steam acutely worn away, was sitting on the cold stone floor of the den, her breath spewing from her mouth in thick clouds of vapor. Gaiden, Kaeric and Ketlam were in the den with her, and Loka was sitting directly beside her, same position, same angered expression. Of course, the little Drappa had no idea what she was angry about.
"What would you like to talk about?" The Alpha's voice had quite an edge to it, and she did not say her counterpart's name so gingerly and kindly at the end of the sentance like she usually did when they talked privately.

Tempestas looked to her, sitting down on the ground with a sigh. He waited for a moment before saying with a soft voice, "I want to apoligize for what I said earlier. I wasn't thinking, and I didn't mean to upset you. I'm sorry." He looked down to the ground, glad that no one else was here. His icy blue eyes lidded themselves as he waited for Citali's response, prepared for an outburst of furry.

It didn't come. However, neither did an acceptance for his appology. Only silence. She was glad to hear him appologize, but she didn't feel like letting go yet. The cubs were getting older, and she knew Kaeric had some kind of gift, but she didn't want to let go. She wanted to protect him and keep them all cubs for as long as she could, a cub did not need a burden such as the Sight at that age.

Tempestas looked up at her silence, before nodding his head. It wasn't ready to be let go of, and he realized this. He turned around, and trotted out of the den, continuing the silence.
As soon as Tempestas left, Kaeric looked up to his mother before sliding out of the cave after him, his small frame hard to spot as it dissapeared.
Tempestas leapt off the rocks, and down to the ground. He looked all around before striding towards the Mirror of Tor, stopping as he heard a young shout, "Father, wait!" He turned around, and saw Kaeric trotting up to him. Tempestas layed down onto the ground, the necklace on his neck clinking softly against his claws. Kaeric layed down infront of him, asking gently, "Why is mother mad at you? Loka is naturally fuming just because mom is, and she always gets a little touchy when she is ticked."
Tempestas smiled slightly, "Loka will grow up into something like her mother, but she won't have any reason why she is. Citali went through alot when she was young, and it has always been a touchy subject. I had mentioned something to your mother about this, and she doesn't want things to be this way. That is why she is angry at me." Kaeric looked to the ground, makign a small, "oh" in response. Tempestas looked at Kaeric for a moment before asking gently, "How about a story, to get our minds off this?" Kaeric lightened up, saying happily, "Ok! What story?"
Tempestas smiled, pulling Kaeric close, "This is a new one, one my father told me. You ready?" Kaeric nodded his head, his tail wagging joyously. Tempestas waited for a moment before begging.
It had been fourty seasons since mighty Fenris and Tor had created the world, and they had watched silently over all of the Varg, and Lera, watching them hunt, run, eat, mate, talk, and make packs. On one of these occasions, a pup got lost.
Fenris had watched as the pack had searched day and night for the pup, and mourn as they couldn't find that small pup. Fenris had thought after a moment, and then decided what to do, "I will give them a gift," He said, "But what?"
He had turned to the nature all around, and listened silently. He listened to the eagle screech, the Reindeer low, and the bear roar, and an idea slowly formed in his mind. All the Varg could do was bark, and they barked constantly day and night. Suddenly, the full idea came to him. Using the voice of the Varg, but making it sound like a song, he gave them the gift of howling. He watched with pride as the pack found each other, and to this day, varg continue to howl.
Kaeric had fallen asleep, Temepstas smiling, he picked the small pup up in his mouth, and walked slowly back to the den.
At the entrance, he hesitated before coming in, the sleepign Kaeric in his mouth. Tempestas put him on the ground beside Citali before turning and leaving, turning to the forest this time. He needed to think, and pups hanging onto his limb and following after him was not helping.

Loka was a little confused to why her mother was mad, but she knew that if her mother was mad, she had to be mad to make for herself a place in the pack. Only a cub, although she acted like all others, she was slowly beginning to learn the way of the world, through her mother. Although Citali never had the intentions to ever have a child that would end up like her, Loka was not just a child of her's. Loka was unique, very bold and vicious and even cold, like her mother. It was blood, not intention.
The little cub stared up at her mother, wide-eyed with question.
"Your father just needs some time." Loka shook her head, that was not what she had been wanting to know. "I know that, Mother," Loka's voice had a slight edge and a little hint of sarcasm in it, "But Kaeric left with him." She was expecting her mother to leap and jump at her for not stopping him, but Citali only sat. After a moment's silence, Citali picked up Gaiden, Loka and Ketlam one by one, setting them around the cave in random places. Without saying another word, the cubs' mother was curled into a ball, much like a dog, and was sleeping.

Tempestas stopped in the middle of the forest, in a grove. Right in the middle of the grove was a large rock, reaching out from the ground. Tempestas walked to the middle of the meadow, and he set Kaeric down onto the ground, infront of the rock. He slowly climbed up onto the rock, sitting at the top, gazing up to the sky. His blue eyes shone in the sun, the bone necklace clicking slightly as he stirred. His eyes galnced down to Kaeric, and he murmured slightly to himself, "I wonder how Glade an Aoi are doing, along with Kresh, and the others. His tail stirred slightly, and he looked around, seeing that the light in the glade(tehe) had dissapeared, only untill a beam was surrounding the rock, Tempestas and Kaeric. Growling, he leapt down to the ground, and gently picked up Kaeric in his mouth. The climbed back up to the top of the rock, and placed Kaeric down onto the stone, curling up into a ball around Kaeric, his head resting down onto the stone, but no sleep came to him.

Glade trotted onto the plain separating the forest from the StarWinder Dens. Turning and smiling at Aoi, he asked calmly, "Wanna race?"

Aoi concidered. "Sure, why not? But when we get back, I want to sleep. I'm dead tired." She smiled over, her tail brushing the air slowly. A race sounded fun. One good run, then bed. Sounded like a perfect plan to her. ((Omgee. It's short. I'm SO SO SO SO SO Sorry I didn't reply to this...And even when I do...You could fit the reply into a pin holder...e.e))
