Almost immediantly, her tears dried, and a stony veil fluttered over her heart. What he had said about the Gods had angered her for a moment, but, as she had let them sink in, she had realized that, in the most peculiar way, he was right. Just thinking that made her shudder for some reason. He was right.
Her eyes narrowed, sparks of starshine within almond shaped slits. She allowed herself to nod, holding back words that spilled over her tongue, blocked only by half-clenched teeth.
"You're right. I..They taught it to me as if they would always help us, in whatever trouble we were in, yet..Here I am. Alone. Lost. And yet...I can't seem to find it in my heart to really care."
An involuntary, poisoned smile drifted onto her maw.
"What you say is a little bit strange, I must say. But, I suppose it's not that hard to see through the mask of a pathetic, broken Drappa, now, is it?"
She closed her eyes good-naturedly, but good nature was nowhere close to present. It was something about the smile. It was poisoned quite too well for her to really be thinking about anything more than the blood of the ivory Drappa splattering on the walls, her dying roar echoing through the forest.
"Yes, there..There is someone. A leader. She's known all over the forest for her temper, yet lately, she's been losing it. She's turning into a washout, thanks to the death of her son. I'm more fit to lead than she is...Even though you have seen me as worse as she is."
Drea stopped smiling, a light of a delicate pity showing in her brilliant silver optics, a rich, heavy outline of black encircling them.
"I don't know if I can connect with you exactly on that...I've never felt love, which I can tell that you have for her. Maybe that's why you can't. There's something still there. A tie, one that can not be completely severed by actions and vengances."
She shrugged, shifting her weight from her left side to her right.
"I don't know. But, I suppose, the only choice you have is to keep trying untill you finally sever that tie. Every tie can be cut somehow, even if it takes more time than you'd like. Even,"
She looked to the skies, which were beginning to cry once again, a faint orange light painted accross the skies.
"even if the Gods aren't pleased with you."
